Transforming problem houses into Dream Homes

Images That Inspire

Sometimes random is beautiful. The scattering of leaves, some right side up, other upside down, is just beautiful. The colors, the composition, and there’s a mood that is evoked.
My phone has an embarrassingly large number of photos of parking garage numbers. Am I the only person who does this? Sometimes I get so preoccupied, I forget where I parked. This is how I deal with it. But sometimes the pictures are beautiful.

I noticed this affect when I was eating lunch in the Oakland Museum of California’s cafe recently. The reflection of the interior ceiling lights in the window looked like lanterns strung in the trees.

There is beauty all around us, if we take the time to notice. Some times it is subtle. Other times it needs editing out the surroundings. But when we find it, it is worth the moment to stop and enjoy it. Taking that time to notice and enjoy is something architects do. It is also something we can all do.
