Happy Holidays!

2013 is winding down and at the same time I’m gearing up for 2014. At this time of year we tend to look simultaneously backward and forward as we review what was and plan what will be.

I love this image of a man poking his head through the barrier that separates this world from the celestial fermament . When design is best, we leave the realm of the mundane and find the music of the spheres.

2013 was an exciting year, what with launching David Locicero | architect and completing several small projects. I enjoy being back in practice. The thing about architecture is that no matter how many times you have designed something, you always learn something new. When you are starting and running a business on top of that, well, let’s just say I learned a lot in 2013.

One of the new things I launched in 2013 which will come into it’s own in 2014, is my bi-monthly newsletter, Making Places. If you don’t already subscribe, please do. If you subscribe, I will give you a copy of my 10 page Project Preparation Checklist. The checklist will help you gather the information and set your budget for any architectural project you might be planning.

I am looking forward to 2014. There is no way of knowing what the new year will bring, but I am laying the foundations for a good year, looking forward to meeting new people and designing some good work. I enjoy working on residential remodeling projects, whether in single family homes or in condominiums. I love a good kitchen remodel project. I am hoping to regularize my posting schedule and add more information to the website. Who knows, I might even experiment with video!

With all that said, I’m going to take a break in posting and resume again the first week of 2014. See you then!
