Random Photo #14: Puppy Love

2021 Random Photo Series

As a way of rounding out the year, I have decided to share 3 random photos from my phone each week, along with a discussion about why I took the picture. This might give you a sense of how I think and who I am.

Apparently it is a cliché that my partner and I adopted a puppy during the pandemic.

But, in our defense, we’d been thinking about it since BEFORE the pandemic. And besides, she’s adorable and we love her.

We opted for a Labradoodle because my partner wanted a Lab and I wanted a breed that wouldn’t exacerbate our allergies. This particular puppy worked her way into our hearts pretty quickly, just seeing her in a little video online.

We used PuppySpot.com to adopt her. They were pretty great with us all the way through and after the process of adopting her. They have their own private plane (it is painted up in their corporate colors with their name emblazoned) and flew her and a bunch of other puppies out to the Bay Area. We picked her up at the airport and have been in love ever since.

Having a puppy in the house for the first time in many years has been a change and a challenge. But the love and entertainment are completely worth it. And I’ve lost 18 pounds (so far) just walking the dog.

Food photos have been largely replaced with puppy photos in my phone. This is just one of hundreds.

Cheers,
